ANNOUNCEMENT

In an effort to reduce and limit the spread of COVID-19 in the parish of Allen, Louisiana, and to preserve the health and safety of all members of the public, between 12:00 am Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and Monday, April 13, 2020, the following are hereby in effect:

 

Access to Allen Parish Sheriff's Office Administration Buildings are hereby restricted and closed to public access.  All operations will continue in full effect but will be handled remotely.

 

Any and all other business should be handled through electronic means. Payments should be made via electronic payments at allenparishso.com online payment system or via mail by money order or cashiers check payable to Allen Parish Sheriff, P. O. Box 278, Oberlin, Louisiana  70655.

 

 

Entry into the Allen Parish Courthouse is also hereby restricted except for the following instances:

 

  • 1) Persons under subpoena or notice to appear;
  • 2) Persons applying for an emergency order;
  • 3)Government employees processing emergency applications;

No additional friends or family members will be allowed to enter.  Only the person applying for the order will be allowed entry.

 

Legal deadlines, including liberative prescription and preemptive periods applicable to legal proceedings in all courts, administrative agencies, and boards have been suspended until at least Monday, April 13, 2020, per Proclamation Number JBE 2020-30 issued by Governor John Bel Edwards.
