On August 17, 2017 @ 0132 hours, the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office received a call from the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office stating that they were responding to a victim that had been shot. 

The Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office advised the shooting occurred at the corner of Richard Street and Powell Road in Allen Parish and they had two people detained. 

Investigation by the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office showed that a disturbance at 106 Richard Street in Allen Parish, Elton, Louisiana led to the early morning shooting of Tanya Landry Fruge, 44 year old white female and Teddest James Bushnell, 47 year old black male. 

Tanya Landry Fruge received two gunshot wounds, one to the right arm and one to the left leg. The victim was transported to a hospital in Jennings, Louisiana with non-life threatening wounds. 

The second victim, Teddest James Bushnell was not hit during the gun fire. 

The suspect, Lawrence Soileau, Jr. was taken into custody at the residence where the shooting occurred. Soileau was transported to the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office and booked in on an outstanding warrant, Aggravated Second Degree Battery and Aggravated Assault with a firearm. 

Matter remains under investigation. Allen Parish Sheriff's Office Investigator, Kevin Sickey is the case agent. The Allen Parish Sheriff's Office was also assisted by the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office and the Coushatta Tribal Police Department.
