Special Operations

Our Special operations Division is comprised of two different operations which are conducted on a daily basis. One operation is the policing and constant monitoring of Registered Sex offenders within our parish. The second being the set up and monitoring of our Local Neighborhood Watch Programs.

SEX OFFENDERS
The Policing and monitoring of the registers sex offenders within Allen Parish is a monumental task which is being performed by two uniformed deputies which are full time employees of the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office. Their duties entail that they make daily visits to the registered sex offenders throughout the Parish and ascertain if they are in compliance with the laws that govern them. They also visit with neighbors and persons in the community to make sure that these offenders are compliant. Other visits are to places of employment of the sex offender to make sure that they are compliant at their workplace also.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Neighborhood Watch Program enlists the active participation of residents, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce crime in their communities. The program was started in an effort to educate residents regarding their roles and responsibilities in the prevention of crime, and to encourage them to take active measures to prevent crime. It calls upon residents to step forward and assist police in organizing their community into a cohesive unit working towards the goal of building a safer, crime-free neighborhood.

Neighborhood Watch groups discuss neighborhood crime problems with the objective of developing solutions to local crime problems. The Allen Parish Sheriff's Office supplies crime information to neighborhood watch organizations and instruct these groups in various crime prevention techniques.
